We offer a "Kimono Redesign Service" that redesigns your memorable kimono in a cool and modern style. With this service, we will revive the kimono into a new and valuable clothes and deliver it to you as a special, one-of-a-kind.
Our production base is in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where we have our atelier and production workshop. Here, Japanese designers and skilled local tailors work together to consistently perform pattern making, cutting, sewing, and inspection with Japanese quality.
At our atelier, we sell kimono redesign products and a lot of kimonos (Tomesode, Furisode, Black crested, Houmongi, Tsukesage, Iro-muji, Komon, Tsumugi, Haori, Yukata, Obi, etc.), and also accept custom made orders for kimono redesign according to your needs.
Service Flow
- Design meeting : We will confirm the details of the kimono you want to use and the product you want to make. We can also meet via chat or online.
- Kimono shipping : Please send your kimono from your local post office to our atelier in Phnom Penh by EMS (International Express Mail Service).
- Start of production : After your kimono arrives at our atelier, we will start the production in our workshop.
- Return of your product : After production is completed, we will return your product to your specified address by EMS.

Service Features
- Redesign of various kimonos : Tomesode, furisode, black crested kimono, houmongi, tsukesage, iro-muji, komon, tsumugi, haori, yukata, obi, etc, please consult us about anything. We can accept any number of pieces.
- Custom made support : We will redesign your kimono according to your desired design, style, and measurements, and carefully redesign a special clothes just for you.
- Japan quality : Japanese designers and skilled local tailors work together to consistently perform pattern making, cutting, sewing, and inspection with Japanese quality.
- Nationwide support : We accept requests from all over Japan.
- Payment : Payment in Japanese yen too can be made through our bank account of our Japanese corporation.
Service cost
- Shipping : The customer is responsible for the round shipping fee. When shipping your kimono from your location, please pay the EMS shipping fee directly at your local post office.
- Production cost : The production cost estimate will include the return shipping fee, and you will be required to pay by bank transfer for our bank. The production cost varies depending on the design and style, but it will start from around 40,000 yen (excluding tax). Please refer to our product page for the reference price.
Flow from shipping to delivery
- Shipping kimono from Japan to Cambodia (※) : Please ship your kimono to our atelier in Phnom Penh by EMS. After shipping, please let us know the EMS tracking number. It may take about 1 week to 10 days to arrive from Japan to Phnom Penh.
- Start of production : After your kimono arrives at our atelier, we will check the condition of your kimono and start production. The production time depends on the product, it is usually about 4 weeks.
- Returning your product from Cambodia to Japan : After production is completed, we will send you a photo of the product and prepare it for shipping. We will carefully pack and return it to your specified address by EMS. We will inform you of the EMS tracking number after shipping. It may take about 1 week to 10 days to arrive from Phnom Penh to Japan.
- Number of days from shipping to delivery : Please note that it may take about 2 months from the time your kimono is shipped until you receive your product.
(※) When shipping your kimono from Japan to Cambodia, you will need to create the shipping label by EMS web site. Please see here for information on creating the label. We will support you if you have any questions. Please refer here about the EMS price. For Cambodia, please see the Asia column in the 2nd zone, and the price varies depending on the weight (e.g. Japan→Cambodia is 3,150 yen for 1 kg). Please see here about damage compensation. We have never had a case of lost luggage via EMS, but please note that we cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur.
How to request
- Contact us via the contact form below : Select "Kimono Redesign Service" as the subject, fill in and attach the following details in the "Message" and "Select Image" fields, and click the "Submit" button.
(1) A photo of the kimono to be used.
(2) A sample or image photo of the product you want to make.
(3) Details of the design and style.
(4) Size.
(5) Whether or not it has a lining.
(6) Any other requests, etc. - Confirmation of details and estimate : We will reply from our gmail address ( tatzu.official@gmail.com ) within 3 business days to confirm the details of your request and let you know the estimate.
- Payment : If you have no problem with your budget, please transfer the amount to our Japanese bank account. Please let us know if you would like to pay by credit card.
- Shipping of the kimono from you : After confirming your payment, we will send you the shipping instructions.
